MARCH @ THE MACEY'S

MACEY MADNESS

SO...... i guess i can't let my sisters in laws out do me so i am attempting, for the second time, to become a blogger like them. I'm not promising anything but hey here it goes!!!

So spring is finally here!!!! Now the dogs can ruin my yard instead of my shoes!!!! If you already don't know we have added to our little family two more dogs over the past year and a half. Oakley, our lab, couldn't be happier!! (NOT) We have a long haired Jack Russel named Gunner who loves to hang of of Oakley's jowls and torment her nonstop and a Cocker Spaniel named Iggy (after our favorite place to eat) who we call our "special" dog. ( We think he might have been dropped on his head a few times as a puppy if you know what i mean) I told Ryan if we aren't having more babies then we are getting puppies!!! I don't think two was in the agreement but i showed him. J/K

Kanyon is now 11 almost 12 in a month. Last fall was his first year of "real" football with the Alta Hawks. He loved and made two touchdowns and one was even with an interception. I have to say our whole family loved it!!! Makena wanted to cheer so i some how became the "cheer mom" for the team. We had 9 girls cheer and like my mom said i always wanted to be a cheerleader so see it's never too late!!!! We are looking forward to next season already!!

Kanyon picked up the drum sticks and away he went. I don't know if you have ever tried to play the drums but let's just say it takes a special kind of coordination. Ryan played the drums in a band (The Stench) back in the day and we have always had a drum set at our house. Kanyon tried guitar and did well but it was just toooooo slow!! SO we got him in drum lessons and he is awesome and loves it!! He is pretty much a straight A student and if you can't tell we are pretty proud of him!!!!

Makena is definitely our little princess, well at least most of the time!!! (Unno how girls can be) She is busy, busy, busy!! She has jazz and ballet three times a week and loves the jazz part but says that ballet is tooooo slow. We love going to her performances and watch how much she has progressed since her first recital at the age of three. She loves to be outside and playing with her friends!! She was head cheerleader and helped me teach the girls cheers and we even did a dance!~! She really wants to take voice lessons we just need to find an empty hour to fit that into!!! She is definitely a performer!! Both of our kids keep us entertained pretty much 24/7. I know it's hard to believe but we often refer to Kanyon as the little Jim Carrey. Don't believe his quiet demure for one minute!!! Makena is the next high school music star or at least would like to be!!!! As you can see our kids are our life and we love it!!!

Ryan is still at Mountain High Motorsports going on 9 years. We are looking to venture out of the motor sports business and pursue another career. They have had a great run and have been very successful but sometimes the whole "family business" thing can be challenging and there comes a time when you need to move on. But who knows what the future will bring for us but we'll keep you posted!!!

I have been working for an Estate Planning Attorney for almost two years now. I started working just 2 1/2 days and somehow that turned into four. That's o.k. though, with both my kids in school I would just be out spending instead of making money!!! It has made lessons a little challenging but with the help of the "Grandparents Taxi Company" we have been able to work it out. THANKS GRANDPARENTS!!!! (Even though my mom and dad decided to leave me on South Mountain without anyone to borrow tomato soup from anymore!!!) HAHAHA! I do miss them not being right down the street and that's kind of ironic because 8 years ago when they said they were moving right down the street from me i wasn't very keen on the idea. But i am very grateful for the years they were up there and especially having Kanyon and Makena be so close to them. They loved riding their bikes to grandma and grandpas' & they were always there with a hug!

I will try to post some pictures, but Callie you are way ahead of me with dubbing in the pretty music to go with the blog. Speaking of Callie, Scotty and Callie came in town last week and it was soooo good to see them. I hate having my brother and sister not living in Utah!! We miss them a lot! It was great to hang out with them, exchange dog stories (how pathetic are we?) , and Scotty even took Kanyon snowboarding on his last day here. I told Scotty that Kanyon couldn't stop smiling the whole ride home after we met them at the mouth of the canyon and I couldn't stop crying!!!! ( I'm not very good at goodbyes!!!!) Got to love the FAM!!!

So, that's pretty much caught ya'all up to date in the crazy life of the Macey's!!!

I will try to keep this updated and add more pictures!!!!!
